By admin

The eye of the occult is a metaphorical concept that represents a deeper understanding and insight into the hidden realms of the supernatural. It symbolizes a perception beyond the ordinary, allowing one to see beyond the material world and into the mystical dimensions of existence. In various mystical and esoteric traditions, the eye of the occult is often depicted as a single eye, often surrounded by symbols and sigils representing spiritual knowledge and enlightenment. This eye is said to possess the power of vision that transcends the limitations of the physical eyes and opens up the spiritual eye within. The eye of the occult is closely associated with the third eye, a concept that originates from ancient Hindu and Buddhist teachings. The third eye is said to be the gateway to higher realms of consciousness and spiritual awakening.

Pact Lore

At 2nd level, an order of the occult eye cavalier gains the Minor Binding feat as a bonus feat. At 6th level, the cavalier gains Improved Minor Binding as a bonus feat. At 10th level the cavalier gains Greater Minor Binding as a bonus feat. The cavalier ignores the prerequisites of these feats. At 14th level, the cavalier gains a +2 insight bonus on all binding checks. This bonus improves to +4 at 18th level.

Vestigial Protection (Su)

Starting at 8th level, instead of gaining a constellation aspect with Minor Binding, an order of the occult eye cavalier can choose to gain the ability to project their spirit as a protective aura as a swift action. While the aura is active, the cavalier gains a +2 deflection bonus to both AC and on Reflex saves. A cavalier can use this aura for 1 minute each day per cavalier level. These minutes do not need to be used consecutively but they must be used in 1-minute increments. At 12th level the cavalier can project this aura onto adjacent allies, granting them its benefits. Each ally that benefits from the aura also expends 1 minute of its duration each minute it benefits from the aura. A cavalier with the bind spirits class feature gains this ability whenever the character is bound to a spirit.

Major Ability: At 15th level, an order of the occult eye cavalier with Greater Binding receives the spirit’s major granted ability in addition to the two minor abilities normally granted by the feat. In addition, the cavalier also receives the spirit’s capstone empowerment if the spirit’s binding check is succeeded by 10 or more. A cavalier with the bind spirits class feature gains Capstone Binding as a bonus feat instead.

I found myself rolling my eyes at every turn, as the author tried to create suspense that just fell flat. The writing itself was also subpar, filled with cliched phrases and clunky dialogue. Save yourself the time and skip this one.
- Mark - 2/5 stars - Eye of the Occult had so much potential, but it missed the mark for me. The story seemed promising at first, but it quickly became disjointed and confusing. The author was trying to juggle too many subplots, and it ended up detracting from the main narrative. The pacing was also off, with long stretches of boredom followed by rushed action scenes. Overall, I wanted to like this book, but it just didn't deliver.
- Jennifer - 2/5 stars - I have mixed feelings about Eye of the Occult. On one hand, I appreciated the unique premise and the author's attempt to create a dark and mysterious atmosphere. However, the execution fell short. The writing was overly detailed, leading to a slow pacing that made it hard to stay engaged. Additionally, the characters lacked depth and felt wooden. While I finished the book, it ultimately left me unsatisfied and wanting more substance.
