[Happy Birthday!] The Curse of Monkey Island

As you may know I’m a huge fan of graphics adventiures, especially those of LucasArts and is not a secret that Monkey island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge is one of my favourite above all (I gave it 94/100 in my review of the second installment). I fell more comfortable to play adventures with more “classic” graphics a la MI2 or Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (a solid 100/100 that means that for me this is one of the best games ever) but I can’t deny even more modern games have their own appeal. This happens with the third Monkey Island title, The Curse of Monkey isalnd that in these days is celebrating its 20th anniversary, having been released in October 1997.

So let’s pick it up again and play it!

1. Jane Smith - 2/5 stars - I had high hopes for "Indiana Jones and the Curse of the Forbidden Island," being a fan of the original films. However, this latest installment fell short. The plot was convoluted and seemed to lack depth, with disjointed scenes that left me feeling confused rather than intrigued. The character development was also lacking, as I found it difficult to empathize with any of the main characters. Overall, I was disappointed with this movie and would not recommend it to fellow fans of the franchise.

I was hoping for a captivating adventure, but instead, I was left bored and unimpressed.
3. Sarah Thompson - 2/5 stars - I found "Indiana Jones and the Curse of the Forbidden Island" to be underwhelming. The plot was predictable and lacked originality, relying too heavily on tired tropes and formulaic storytelling. The CGI effects were also subpar, making certain scenes appear cheesy and unrealistic. 4. David Anderson - 2/5 stars - As a longtime fan of Indiana Jones, I had high hopes for "Indiana Jones and the Curse of the Forbidden Island." Unfortunately, the film fell flat for me. The action sequences lacked intensity and the plot felt disjointed and confusing. I also found the humor to be forced, with jokes that felt out of place and fell flat. Overall, I was disappointed by this installment and felt that it did not live up to the legacy of the Indiana Jones franchise.
5. Emily Collins - 3/5 stars - While "Indiana Jones and the Curse of the Forbidden Island" had its moments, I found it to be a mediocre addition to the franchise. The plot was predictable and lacked the depth and complexity that I expect from an Indiana Jones film.
