These little books were a lot of fun this week. I decided to read along with my son Andre four titles from the Magic Tree House series, written by Mary Pope Osborne. The titles were:

I don't want to give the secrets away, but I would like to say that, despite the fact that these little books are for young readers (grade 2 reading level), the secrets that were shared are for all ages.

Next book: Trouble in High Heels by Leanne Banks ~ I decided this week that I would try a genre that I have never really tried before, which is Romance. I asked our local librarian to choose a book for me in that section and told myself that, as bad as it might be, I will finish the book! I will let you know next sunday how it was.

One more homemade gift complete! This tote bag was fun to make. I chose fabrics I thought would please the person receiving it. and included pockets at her request. PEI Wildflowers :: Orange

These orange wildflowers caught my eye while we were on a trail in Cavendish. The clusters of orange flowers really stood out in the middle of the green field. They are called Devil's Paintbrush or Orange Hawkweed. I thought the shape of the petals were interesting too. The field guide says they are found all over the province.

Last night, a friend and I visited the Cavendish campground at the PEI National Park for an open house hosted by PEI National Park showcasing the new oTENTik tents. oTENTik Tents are a great idea and different option available for accommodations, a cross between a small cabin and a large tent! There are now six oTENTik tents available at the PEI National Park, Cavendish location. These are spacious and six people can sleep in one. The beds are off the floor, on a wooden platform and include mattresses. There is a table with four chairs and a bench, as well as a wood stove inside for cool nights. The sides and roof of the oTENTik tents are like a strong regular tent material, but the floor is off the ground and looks like a wood floor. I thought these were a great idea for a different camping option. I imagine that you would still get the feeling of camping, but with a bit more cozy accommodations!
