After all that, it’s safe to say that the sale of the 30th Anniversary Edition didn’t quite go as planned. Unfortunately, however, the problems didn’t end there! Following the intended shipping date passing, MTG players noticed that the date had been mysteriously scrubbed from the Secret Lair website. As you might expect, this caused quite a lot of concern among players who were worried the product had been unceremoniously delayed. This was an especially worrying prospect following the almost year-long delay that the Heads I Win, Tails You Lose received. Thankfully, that concern was somewhat premature, however, as shipping confirmations were on their way.

Taking to the MTGfinance subreddit, excited players have recently been reporting that they ve been receiving more than they expected from Wizards of the Coast. MTG 30th Anniversary Secret Lair Is Still Causing Problems!

From the moment it was revealed, the 30th Anniversary Countdown Kit was widely regarded as one of the best MTG Secret Lair drops of all time. Boasting $230 of value for just $150, MTG Players couldn’t get enough of the 30th Anniversary Countdown Kit. This is in stark contrast to 30th Anniversary Edition, which was announced in the leadup to Magic 30. While initially intriguing, the reveal of 30th Anniversary Edition’s $999 price tag had players up in arms in an instant. Since that damning reveal, 30th Anniversary Edition has, somewhat deservingly, been subject to constant ridicule from disgruntled fans. This anger, however, may be somewhat misplaced. Despite being the fan favorite, the 30th Anniversary Countdown Kit is actually the one causing all the problems.

1. John - 2 stars
I was really disappointed with Secret Lair Magic 30. The cards were very underwhelming and lacked any sort of excitement that I usually feel when opening a new Magic set. The artwork was also not up to par with what I expected. Overall, it just fell flat and didn't live up to the hype. I wouldn't recommend spending money on this product.
2. Sarah - 3 stars
While Secret Lair Magic 30 had some interesting cards, the overall value for the price was just not there. I felt like I could have gotten better cards for the same amount of money by purchasing booster packs or other sets. Additionally, the packaging and presentation were quite lackluster. It didn't feel like a special collector's edition at all. I was left feeling somewhat disappointed and wouldn't purchase it again.

I found Secret Lair Magic 30 to be quite underwhelming. The selection of cards didn't really excite me, and I felt like there were missed opportunities for some really amazing and unique cards. The price point was also a bit high for what you were getting. Overall, I was left feeling like I wasted my money and would advise others to skip this set.
