While director Lyons strikes the right note between the play s darker and comedic elements, her work with Tierney and Jonigkeit is effective despite limited chemistry between the two. Silverman couches that concern in a script that contains the slickest, funniest devil you would ever want to run into, but ultimately the question is whether or not we have dug ourselves a hole too deep to crawl out of.
The second act delves deeper into the complexities of Witch's character and her relationships. It is revealed that she is not solely a victim but also a perpetrator of violence, blurring the lines between good and evil. This act also introduces a parallel storyline involving a man named Scratch, who is on a journey to find Witch and confront her.
