A flawless release. Coupled with stellar mastering and production, you'll be in heaven if you're a fan. YMO/BGM may not be for everyone, but it certainly is for this household! Don't hesitate, buy with confidence.

Six stars for the excellence and grandeur of this masterpiece. My favourite all-time record which I would never have expected to become even more desirable before the box had been announced. This is the measure of all things in terms of electronic music production, and mind it's from 1981.

Is this a new variant or are the runouts here listed improperly?

BGM is my favorite Yellow Magic Orchestra album, it strikes a perfect balance between accessibility and experimentation. Highly recommended listening.

As the user purktuline said, the 1992 Restless US CD absolutely sounds better than any other CD run of BGM.
Initially, the difference is subtle, mainly better treble presentation and clarity on the track "Ballet", and there is not a lot of noteworthy difference between the Alfa Japan CD and the Restless one, but that changes completely with "Cue", which is not muffled and distant sounding in the Restless version. The same applies to "Mass", which is unusually quiet in the Alfa pressings, as well as being considerably muffled again.
There's also more linearity to the noise floor between tracks, which could indicate a digital master, again as mentioned by purktuline.

Ultimately, the White Witch's icy reign serves as a metaphor for tyranny and oppression. It represents the suppression of freedom, the stifling of hope, and the eradication of warmth and compassion. However, as the story unfolds, a glimmer of hope emerges in the form of the Pevensie children, who come to challenge the White Witch's reign and bring about the eventual downfall of her icy rule. In conclusion, the White Witch and her icy reign symbolize the embodiment of evil and the destructive power of tyrannical rule. Through her control over Narnia's climate and her manipulation of its inhabitants, she ensures that her icy reign remains unchallenged. However, the arrival of the Pevensie children and the awakening of the true rulers of Narnia pave the way for the ultimate defeat of the White Witch and the restoration of warmth and freedom to the land..
