Can I retrieve the product key from a non-booting Windows installation?
As long as both Windows versions are 2000, XP, 2003, or Vista, you can use the Load Hive function. You will have to slave the drive and point the Keyfinder to the non-booting Windows directory.

This tool will subsequently let you copy and paste the key wherever you like, save the key either to a text file or even let you print it out for safe-keeping. Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder

The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is a freeware utility that retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install windows from your registry. It also has a community-updated configuration file that retrieves product keys for many other applications. Another feature is the ability to retrieve product keys from unbootable Windows installations. Number of supported programs: 300+. Works with 64-bit systems!

If you need something more powerful, compare Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder with a tool called "Recover Keys". This advanced product key finder is not free, however, it doesn't cost much for what it does.

Features and Highlights

  • Command line options - /save /savecsv /close /hive /file
  • Load Hive option - allows you to load the registry hive of another Windows installation. To use, put the hard drive in a working machine (must also be Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8) or use Windows PE (not tested, should work) and click Load Hive. Then point it to the dead Windows install. If you're using Windows Vista, Administrator rights are required for this feature. You may have to right-click on the Keyfinder and run as Administrator.
  • Improved Save & Print! - save & print options will now include all keys. Save is also available in text or CSV.

Can I retrieve the product key from the Windows CD?
No. Product keys are not stored on CDs themselves. When you enter your key while installing, it's checked against an algorithm to verify that the key is valid.

I don't have a product key. Will your program generate one for me?
No. The Keyfinder is not a key generator. The Key Finder Tool reads the registry and extracts the key that was used to install Windows.

Why doesn't the product key returned match the one on my sticker?
If you purchased your PC with Windows already installed from a large manufacturer such as Dell or HP, it's likely that Windows was installed using an OEM key instead of the actual key for your PC. This saves them (and you) money because it's much more efficient for these large companies to install Windows once and then clone the drive.

Reviews for "Conquering the Tides with Goth Bqbe Surf Curse"

1. Kelly - 2 stars - I was really looking forward to "Goth bqbe" by Surf Curse, as I had heard great things about their music. Unfortunately, this album fell flat for me. The songs all sounded very similar, and there was a lack of variety in the instrumentation and overall sound. Additionally, the lyrics were quite repetitive and didn't offer much depth or substance. I was disappointed and expected more from a band with such a dedicated fan base.
2. Mark - 1 star - I just don't get the hype around Surf Curse and their album "Goth bqbe". The songs felt monotonous and lacked any sort of standout moments. The vocals were almost grating at times, and I found myself struggling to listen to the entire album without feeling bored. Overall, I found it to be a forgettable and unremarkable release.
3. Sarah - 2 stars - "Goth bqbe" was not my cup of tea. The songs all blended together and I had a hard time distinguishing one from another. The lyrics were also quite angsty and cliche, which made it difficult for me to connect with the music. I had higher expectations for Surf Curse based on the positive reviews I had read, but unfortunately, this album just didn't resonate with me.
