Is playing games with witchcraft sin?

Hello, as the title suggests, is playing video games with witchcraft or other ungodly things the bible clearly states not to do considered sin?

A friend and I are really curious on this topic, as we both play video games, and would like to know by God's Word what is said on this. I believe if God's Word says to stay away from witchcraft and not to do it, that a game giving you that choice to use it is sin because you chose to do it. My friend beleives it is just data and that they are not really using magic or witchcraft, but I don't really think that is so.

For example the ouija board is considered just a game, but it causes you to sin as it has you communicate to evil spirits for answers by witchcraft.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14 "

9When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
13Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God. 14For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do."

Very curious what you guys believe what the bible says about this. And if anyone knows any more scriptures that hit this topic. Thankyou.

Whatever is not of faith is sin so it would be sin for you but not for your friend.

What is the difference between witchcraft and prayer?
Prayer seeks God's will and witchcraft seeks the petitioners will.
They both use faith but for different reasons.

Video games do not contain that "self seeking" element that witchcraft does.It is ONLY a game and enforcing your will in the game is the purpose of the game so it is not even close to denying God or his will in your life.

1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
But it may not be edifying for you to play if it bothers you to be reminded that there is such a thing as people who believe in and practice witchcraft.

I sometimes call prayer craftsmanship because we are to make Jesus's enemies his footstool. We are not called to fear that which is not real but to enforce that which is truth.

Whatever is not of faith is sin so it would be sin for you but not for your friend .

the ouija board is purposefully used to contact devils, don't even need this as we are in contact with devils everyday, but considering it's use, its no question that it's an abomination because of purpose. Stay far away.

We need to be careful about others unlearned opinions. Their list of evil's, can completely miss something in our life we need to stay far away from. Be Holy Spirit led, not religious led.

I myself missed a big one.. I use to watch Forensic Science, where the person gets killed, or goes missing and they use science to solve the mystery.

No evil in that, there are Christian forensic scientist. After a year though, I started to have fear every time my wife did not come home on time, or one of my kids.
I would start to call my wife 3 or 4 times if she just went to the store by herself. I never did that before. The times she did not answer her phone because she was in line, or just lost her phone charge, for me, it was prayer time.

Prayer is good. certainly. I did not make any bad confessions, did not beg God to bring her home safely, Nope. I just quoted Psalm 91 over her, while trying to call her over and over, while looking constantly out the window.

I was making my wife miserable, and I lost, by allowing what looked harmless in, something valuable to me. I had lost trust and faith for the protection of my family. Fear is torment. It's not faith, even if you think your praying in faith. Prayer out of fear, is not faith. We have no business fearing anything.

Had I just obeyed what I knew from the very start, and not watched that first, second, third episode. I knew. But it looked harmless. Something about it, did not sit well with me the first time. I would have been free of fear for those years it effected me.

The Lord did speak to me about it. He said. "NO MORE. " I had to be in a place to listen though.

So, if you can't allow something with good conscience, with faith, and no thought of it being right or wrong. Stay far away. If you question, then for you it's sin.

Jesus Is Lord.

The unlucky witch 1983

She wonders if her magical powers are more of a burden than a gift. One of the main themes in The Unlucky Witch 1983 is the idea of self-acceptance. Throughout the film, Lucy struggles with accepting herself for who she is, and embracing her magical abilities. There are several memorable scenes in the movie, such as the one where Lucy accidentally turns her cat into a frog, or when she tries to cast a love spell on Jack, only for it to backfire and cause chaos in their relationship. In the end, Lucy learns to embrace her true self and realizes that her magical abilities are what make her unique. She also learns the importance of being true to herself and not trying to be someone she's not. Overall, The Unlucky Witch 1983 is a charming and lighthearted film that explores themes of self-acceptance and embracing one's unique qualities. It serves as a reminder that everyone has their own unique talents and abilities, and that it's important to embrace and celebrate them..
